The Stars

I just realized I’d somehow neglected to post anything about this yet… The Stars is a new comic mini-series being put out through indy-publisher Earthbound Comics which I had the opportunity to work on as the letterer. It was written and penciled by Kurt Belcher, inked by Stuart Berryhill and colored by Lisa Sky – an all around awesome collection

Mummy sketches

I freely admit to being a huge fan of the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies, especially the first one. It’s one of those films I’ve seen so many times I can practically quote the whole thing, and is one of my wife’s favorites as well. Am thinking about doing some fan-art for fun – here’s some sketches from my sketchbook, just

Sketches – House of Night Signing

A bunch of free sketches I drew today at Lightning Comics. I was there as part of the Spokane Comicsmiths’ Guild, to support fellow local artist Joshua Covey, as he signed House of Night #2, his big debut with Dark Horse Comics. We had a good turn-out and Josh was busy the whole time, signing and sketching. Thanks to Matt

Comic Signing & Free Sketches

I’ll be at over Lightning Comics in Coeur d’Alene this Saturday (the 17th), drawing free sketches with my friends in the Comicsmiths’ Guild from Noon to 3 pm. We’ll be there to help celebrate fellow local artist Joshua Covey’s big Dark Horse Comics debut, with the release of House of Night #2, which comes out this week. He’ll be signing

Face Sketches

Just a few head shots of various comic/TV ladies. Random faces is what I usually fill up my sketchpad with if I’m loosening up, or just don’t know what else to draw.

The Eleventh Dino

And finally we have the current version of Doctor Who, seen here as a Triceratops. This was another “just seemed right” choice, without any real deep meaning. A Triceratops in a fez? Sure, why not? Triceratops are cool. These were a lot of fun to do, and hopefully somebody out there got as much of a kick out of the

The Tenth Dino

While the Seventh Doctor is still my all-time favorite, the Tenth quickly took his place as a *very* close second. And if I hadn’t watched the show as a kid, with that ever present nostalgia tempering my opinion, number Ten would easily be in the top spot, by a mile. So… here he is, as represented by probably my favorite

New Trek

Another Star Trek pin-up, just for fun. While I hesitate to call myself a “Trekkie”, I do admit to being a huge fan of the franchise. But that’s not too surprising as most of my immediate family *are* Trekkies to some degree and I grew up with it all around me… Not sure when I’ll get around to inking this,

The Ninth Dino

When I started figuring out which version of Doctor Who should go with what type of dinosaur, this was the first and easiest one to decide on. If any Doctor personifies a Tyrannosaurus, it’s the Ninth one. And really… a T-Rex, in a leather jacket? How awesome is that?
